So things are hard in our country now, the people are saying in unison. Hmmmm, what a situation to be in!
Why is APC and President Muhammadu Buhari not delivering the quick-fix the people wanted ... but never promised?
Is the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari truly ordained or is it a figment of the imagination of the likes of Rev. Father Mbaka and General Overseer Enoch Adejare Adeboye? Can God lie just because this is about Nigeria?
I woke up this morning, challenged to challenge Nigerians and all true friends of this nation, to encourage sustaining an interest and faith in this leadership to lay the needed foundation for the emergence of a true Nigeria.
We will get there, if only we have the will and the needed patience to do so.
Do not get me wrong, the people are paying the price, maybe undeservingly, having to go hungry in a land that flows with milk and honey, for acts not committed directly.
I am not writing this to spite, as a diasporan. I am alerting us to a fact and a reminder of a truth, that at the time President Muhammadu Buhari emerged, he offered the only credible option.
We were left with a choice of whether to continue under a regime of impunity, self-centredness, corruption, insincerity, ritual practices, shamelessness, covetousness and many more.
Or opt for a change of not driving into an alley with our eyes closed, awaiting the last sound of a permanent crash!
Out of commonsense and divine ordering of our senses and footsteps, we opted to stand by a new leader. We chose President Muhamnadu Buhari. We have not made a mistake.
All along, we have been clothed in borrowed cloths, just because our leaders of then downgraded from answering humans to receiving the tagging of animals. And even the real and natural animals distanced themselves from these ones!
Starting with the over-valued Naira, we were only helping to boost a foreign currency, the dollar, Naira was long the contents of the dustbin.
A nation that depended on importing everything and anything, from automobiles to toothpicks, cannot expect to be taken seriously. We all lent a hand to destroying the Naira, living a lie, and insisting on foreign goods.
This new leadership cannot be accused of killing the Naira now. It has since been buried in an unmarked graveyard!
President Buhari will not be acting sanely, looking to dig a dead Naira from an unmarked grave. He needs to birth another one. That takes time.
About the touted clout of our petroleum, who says we deserve to enjoy a life of quality, when all we have been doing for decades, is live the life of the prodigal son? Truth, they say, is bitter.
If only all the loud critics of now were man enough to challenge those pilfering unchallenged then, we will not be where we are today.
Our oil fields have been mortgaged for decades to come. Shame that those "who did not buy, will pay" for goods not delivered. This is our cross to carry!
Another scary fact is the world is daily researching into renewable energy, and may, in years to come, ask us to consider drinking our petroleum! We need to start looking seriously at other options.Of special mention is about going back to farming, if not for export purposes, to reduce our dependence on other nations to feed us.
Opposition to any leadership is good, provided this is about positive and objective criticisms.
President Buhari has been accused about everything and anything, and we know this man is not guilty as charged. Our choice of leaders of the past, coupled with our insincerity, came back to haunt us.
Why are we refusing to learn from our pitfalls of the past, and looking to progress?
Ask impotent Abu, why he has not fathered a baby after 20 years, he will lay the blame at the doorstep of the new leader! Hmmmm, someone should help Abu to look elsewhere at solving his problem.
It takes a while to repair rots, and patience is the key to witnessing a tree bearing fruits. Building the nation is a joint effort.
We, all, must lend hands to nation building.

Just that I am not sure if President Buhari can dance to it without holding his favourite Fulani herdsman's stick. But he will try! And we will try too!

NIGERIA'S PER CAPITA ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION IS AMONGST THE LOWEST IN THE WORLD!!!.

South Africa generates steady 45,000 megawatt per day for their 50 million population.
Brazil generates over 100,000 megawatt per day for their 201 million population!
"Giant" of Africa (Nigeria) currently generate barely 3,000 megawatt for its 180 million people!
DEMOGRAPHICS AND POWER CONSUMPTION
The rule of thumb for any developed industrial nation is that at least 1 gigawatt (i.e. 1,000 megawatts) of electricity generation and consumption is required for every 1 million head of population, which translates into 1 mega watts of electricity generation and consumption is required for every 1000 head of population...
Nigeria's per capita electricity consumption is amongst the lowest in the world and far lower than many other African countries. Nigeria's per capita electricity consumption is just 7% of Brazil's and just 3% of South Africa's.
Brazil has 100,000 MW of grid-based generating capacity for a population of 201 million people. South Africa has 45,000 MW of grid-based generating capacity for a population of 50 million people.
As at the latest figures from Nigerian Minister of Power, the total generation transmitted in Nigeria was 3000 MW for a population of over 180 million people.
With the rule of thumb described above, Nigeria with a population of 180million should not be generating and transmitting less than 100,000 megawatt per day of electricity to have relatively uninterrupted power supply for both residential and industrial consumptions.
Currently, Nigeria even with the privatization is only within less than 4% milestone (<4000MW) out of the estimated 100% (100,000MW) needed for its population! Nigerian unacceptably poor provision of power supply has had a crippling effect on development of small businesses and indeed the wider economy.
The ration of under 4000MW among Industrial and Residential Consumption in over 180 million Populated Country has led to deindustrialization for the past 3 decades leading to closure of many industries and migration of many to other African countries..
Nigeria commenced power generation since the 50s (pre-independence) when the population was below 40 million and over 60 years after, Nigeria could barely reach a total generation capacity of 5000MW even with the population explosion to over 180 million (in 2016). This only implies that Nigeria generates approximately 70 MW per year over a period of 60 years!
But what were the Nigerian leaders and stakeholders looking or thinking from the 70s? 80s? 90s? and since 1999 till date?
Majority of the overhead Powerline transmission lines we see today across Nigeria were built in the 50s and 60s. Then what was built in the 70s, 80s,90s and since the beginning of 4th republic?
The maximum capacity of the existing Powerline transmission across National Grid cannot wheel safely beyond 7000MW.
As Nigerian Birth Rate continues to surge and explode at geometric alarming rate, the lack of plannings that continuously expose infrastructural gap continue to expose how far behind Nigeria remain among its former peers!
Over the past 16 years, Nigerian Government have "spent" billions of dollars on power sector only to achieve below 4,000MW in April 1, 2016 on-grid!
Nigeria will achieve a sustainable power supply with committed and determined leadership that will ensure diversification of Nigerian energy sources to reduce the over reliance on gas thermal power generation majorly.
Energy mix will require involvement of alternative energy sources like solar, wind, nuclear, hydrodam and coal, which are in abundance in several regions of the country.
Furthermore, Nigerian government must come out with clear policies that will encourage off-grid Independent Power Generation (IPP) for industrial zones for industrial utility consumptions ONLY.. This is where General Electric (GE) and Siemens would intervene.
Also, Solar Roof (off-grid) for homes and offices utilities should be encouraged with tax incentive / tax credit policies to encourage many homes and offices to go off-grid.
Let's see what's going on across other Nations to give us an idea where we are:
UK had a total average power generation capacity of 75,000 MW for its 64+ million population.
Canada has a population of under 35m with total power generation capacity of over 100,000MW.
United States of America with a population of 350 million has total power generation capacity of 1,000,000 MW per day.

INCASE YOU DON’T Know ~ SaveOurGirls
One Pseudo-journalist went and came back with reports that says the teacher was innocent. The school prefects of Queen’s college were allegedly interviewed and the teachers too and they said the biology teacher is a GOOD MAN and for SO MANY YEARS, a lot of people came to accuse him of the same offence of sexually molesting their kids and when investigations were carried out, they found the allegations to be false.
Almost all the men, who I thought would speak up against this trend, were busy supporting the new revelation except one man I just added on my friend’s list today and my friend Olamide Obe. Funny enough, he doesn’t reside in Nigeria so I think his own level of thinking is not shallow and also not clouded by the ugly act of Chauvinism that has eroded the brains of an average male Nigerian.
The first thing I want to talk about is the issue of the interviewed students coming out to say it never happened.
- Were they at the scene?
- Do you think it’s easy for a Nigerian girl-child to come out and speak against an elderly person especially a teacher in the presence of the school authority?
- How many grown Nigerian women have even come out to say they were raped and molested? In this environment that stigmatized people without listening to their part of the story. In this male-dominated environment where it takes more that wit and bravery to be a woman. You need some madness too.
When I was young, my father employed some housemaids to take care of us after my mother’s demise. That was when I knew first-hand what they call fear. You see, these housemaids will beat us and even threaten us that should in case we decide to report them, they will beat us again the second day. The fear of the beating naturally makes my sisters keep quiet. I was the only person that normally speaks out. I was always reporting them and they were always beating me until they gave up on me. Not everybody can be like me.
When I was in secondary school, the fine-art teacher, Mr. Ayeni was sleeping with girls. His constant girl-friend was Beatrice my mate. They had sex regularly. I remembered the day Mr. Ayeni gave me the beating of my life in school; I went back to the hostel to inflict my anger on Beatrice.
The commerce teacher, Mr Olaiya slept with over 40 girls in that school year in year out. He was reported but nothing happened until I did the needful
My Chemistry teacher, (name withheld) was sleeping with the Vice principal 1 and I caught them. (I wonder why I was always catching people sef. My waka waka too much). The day I caught them, Chemistry teacher was standing in-front of the computer lab and since I was the librarian, I was given the key to the computer lab. It was late in the evening and the VP was pressing her breast and touching her buttocks. Both of them were moaning like cats abi na dogs sef. The chemistry teacher was saying lets go somewhere better.
This same chemistry teacher failed me because I caught them. She made my life a living hell. People just thought she picked on me because I no dey stay one place and because my mouth dey talk everything wey I see. That wasn’t true; she did because i caught her sleeping with two people. The math teacher and the VP. Anytime we make a report about the chemistry teacher, there were always cover-ups.
I know these things happen in Nigeria on daily basis and I don’t expect Mr. Best Biology Teacher in the world to confess but I know these allegations have a probability of being 50% true and 50% false.
For me, I stick to 85% true. That man should be thoroughly interrogated. And for those fake activist saying trash up and down, may this happen to your daughter and May Nigerians ask for proof to show that somebody pressed your daughter’s breast and buttocks.

BEING A NIGERIAN ~ Mide
When you stay in an environment where the citizens (mostly landlords) are useless, then you have to take on some stuffs that are not yours.
I wonder how people build houses without drainages and they don't even bother to grade the road. Instead, they buy SUVs with customized plate numbers, they construct their soak-aways outside their fences, on the main road where drainages should be and they build prison mimicking fences.
See, I don't have issues with people putting on pseudo-wealthy lifestyle even when they can't afford the real lifestyle. It's your problem not mine but when you are a landlord and you are just visibly useless, I have a big issue with that.
Once, I have had cause to petition the whole landlords association. People just think I'm troublesome and that is not true.
For three days, we have not had light. The PHCN office is just 5minutes drives to the street and over 100houses are affected and nobody took the bull by the horn to report this.
I had to beg hubby to do the reporting 3days ago and despite the assurance from the PHCN guys, they refused to rectify it.
This night, I couldn't bear it again. I had to drive down to the PHCN office. We were there at the transformer point till almost 9pm.
Issues resolved. Electricity restored and I could hear Up Nepa everywhere. Up Nepa when my son I had picked from school since afternoon have not eaten anything, up Nepa when I had to part with some change to appreciate these Nepa guys.
Home, tired and practically useless. I asked again, when will Nigeria work?

Each time NNPC plan to distribute fuel via Pipelines, that is when the vandals and oil thieves resume their activities.
KACHIKWU believes that the sabotage against the smooth distribution of fuel and oil theft have great accomplices within the NNPC itself. Some people within the corporation alert the vandals each time fuel is transported through pipeline. Whenever pipelines are not in use, no vandals, no theft.
Therefore, he decides to post the current staff at the pipeline section to another section without losing their ranks and also to rotate workers who will be working at the Pipeline units.
The workers will not even know when they will be on duty.....because we must stop these tanker drivers menace and pollution, accidents, deaths on our roads!
Except transporation of petroleum product by rail is ready to take off, pipelines must be put to productive use.
The staff of NNPC working at the Pipeline section said no one can remove them or post them to other sections........Where in the world can this rubbish be taken from employees. ..??? PENGASAN and NUPENG are also in solidarity with these incredible workers.
Did they bury their placenta at the Pipeline section of the NNPC??? Obviously, they have formed their sabotaging empires around our pipelines. .....Anyone who doesn't want to be posted out from a section can just resign and go! No matter the length of a labourer's moustache, the one who employs him is his master.
Support NNPC Restructuring and together, we can end this economic slavery in Nigeria.

What is the most important skill you need?
If you want to be successful, you’ll need many specialised business skills, but probably the most important one will surprise you: it's the capacity to READ! Yes, READ!
You must develop the capacity to read, and to read FAST, and by this I don't mean basic literacy. This is why I talk of "capacity." If you’re on this platform, you’re someone who has more than basic literacy skills. You are the next generation of leaders.
I'm sure you’ve heard the expression: "(Great) leaders are readers."
You must have the capacity to read a lot, if you want to be successful. All the greatest leaders I’ve ever met, from any walk of life, had this in common: they liked to read books, journals, and articles.
On one of my travels, I met someone who asked me a simple question:
"Where do you live?"
"I have a house in London and one in Johannesburg, but I spend most of my time in airports."
"Where are your books?" she asked.
"In Johannesburg."
"Ah, that is where you live, because books are your most prized possession."
You must BUY and own books. It must be a constant investment. You’re not a reader if you prefer only to borrow books. It means you're not committed. If you have children, take them to bookshops. Buy or build them bookshelves. Encourage them to own and treasure books. Take them to libraries, galleries and museums… they're generally free!
__For the African continent to grow and prosper, we must build a greater culture of reading in our young generations! There’s not a moment to waste.

This is the attitude you must build towards the ownership of all other books, too: "If you think books are too expensive then you have not yet realized their value to you, and your family."
Reading is by far and away the thing I do most in my day:
# You all know by now that I start my day by reading the bible for at least an hour. I read it cover to cover at least once a year.
# Before I go to work or start my day, I delve through at least 5 newspapers that I subscribe to.
# Then I read reports, mostly about what’s going on in our various businesses. I also read the latest developments in our industries.
# I read emails (I don’t allow an email to go unanswered for more than 24 hours). Generally, I read every email that gets into my inbox. This is why I don’t like all sorts of emails to clutter my box. I manage emails very strictly because if I don't, I’ll lose control of my agenda.
# Throughout the day, I’m reading reports and responding to them. I can read very fast.

In closing, the other day I went to see a play in New York about Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s founding fathers. It was a remarkable musical production and worth all the rave reviews it’s getting. I only had one problem: it was a musical performed in "rap" by a mostly young African-American cast; for a long time, I didn’t understand a thing they were saying! But I could still follow the story very well, because I’d read the book on which it was based more than 10 years earlier. If I must see a movie, I need to read the book as well.
Someone who has a smartphone or tablet is reading (quantitatively) more than 100x what their peers read 20 years ago. Nevertheless, the key to reading capacity requires an interest in reading books, even those in electronic format.
Be smart, be wise; buy and read books. If you’re planning to get to the top, one book a week should be your minimum target.
If you want to be successful, you’ll need many specialised business skills, but probably the most important one will surprise you: it's the capacity to READ! Yes, READ!
You must develop the capacity to read, and to read FAST, and by this I don't mean basic literacy. This is why I talk of "capacity." If you’re on this platform, you’re someone who has more than basic literacy skills. You are the next generation of leaders.
I'm sure you’ve heard the expression: "(Great) leaders are readers."
You must have the capacity to read a lot, if you want to be successful. All the greatest leaders I’ve ever met, from any walk of life, had this in common: they liked to read books, journals, and articles.
On one of my travels, I met someone who asked me a simple question:
"Where do you live?"
"I have a house in London and one in Johannesburg, but I spend most of my time in airports."
"Where are your books?" she asked.
"In Johannesburg."
"Ah, that is where you live, because books are your most prized possession."
You must BUY and own books. It must be a constant investment. You’re not a reader if you prefer only to borrow books. It means you're not committed. If you have children, take them to bookshops. Buy or build them bookshelves. Encourage them to own and treasure books. Take them to libraries, galleries and museums… they're generally free!
__For the African continent to grow and prosper, we must build a greater culture of reading in our young generations! There’s not a moment to waste.
The pastor of a great church asked a young man, "Where is your bible?"
"I can't afford one, sir" the young man replied.
"Then sell your shoes!" the pastor replied.
This is the attitude you must build towards the ownership of all other books, too: "If you think books are too expensive then you have not yet realized their value to you, and your family."
Reading is by far and away the thing I do most in my day:
# You all know by now that I start my day by reading the bible for at least an hour. I read it cover to cover at least once a year.
# Before I go to work or start my day, I delve through at least 5 newspapers that I subscribe to.
# Then I read reports, mostly about what’s going on in our various businesses. I also read the latest developments in our industries.
# I read emails (I don’t allow an email to go unanswered for more than 24 hours). Generally, I read every email that gets into my inbox. This is why I don’t like all sorts of emails to clutter my box. I manage emails very strictly because if I don't, I’ll lose control of my agenda.
# Throughout the day, I’m reading reports and responding to them. I can read very fast.

CORRUPTION FIGHT IN NIGERIA...
President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday, made good his threat to deal ruthlessly with top civil servants who altered figures in the 2016 budget thereby making nonsense of his zero budget plan.
No fewer than 184 top budget officials were flushed out of budget duties and sent to establishments that have little or nothing to do with budget, as a punishment for their roles in padding this year’s fiscal document, now before the National Assembly.
A top official in the Budget office confirmed that 22 top officers from the Budget Office of the Federation were affected in the mass deployment.
The rest were moved away from budget-related duties in other Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.
Vanguard learnt that out of the 22 top officials indicted in the budget office, four were directors on Level 17, six were deputy directors while 12 were Assistant directors.
As the affected officials were moved from their posts in the Budget Office, 14 other directors said to have been ‘tested’ have been redeployed to the same office with immediate effect.
The order to remove the tainted officials from their previous posts to other duties, was conveyed to the affected offices by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, according to finding by Vanguard.
All the affected officers, according to the directive, are to report in their new locations on or before the close of work today.
When contacted, the Media Adviser to the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Mr. Akpadem James, confirmed the development but declined to give further details.
It would be recalled that while in Saudi Arabia last month, President Buhari had threatened to punish all those who were involved in the padding of the budget.
Apart from removing the director of budget, he also merged the budget office with the planning ministry.
